So the end-of-the-year barbeque came and went over mother’s day weekend. I have to say it was a blast. I know, I know, a lot of you think I am supposed to say that, right? Honestly, we had a lot of fun.Lot’s of food. Lot’s of laughing. Lot’s of photos. Some monkey-business, and a little smoke inhalation (from the fire pit).
We had a DDR competition going on inside the house (way to go Sarah and Danielle by the way), an impromptu jam session out in the back yard, and some great conversations all over the place. There were mandolins, guitars, drums, and harmonicas galore. I didn’t know so many of you men could sing falsetto, by the way. I must tip my hat to greatness! Does anyone else play an instrument- violin, piano, triangle, wood block? Let me know for next time.
My personal favorite part of the evening was toward the end of the evening as the sun was going down look around and seeing everyone engaged in conversations and enjoying the music under blankets and sleeping bags. It was so cool to see people that didn’t know each other that well in little groups getting to know one another. Showing love, stepping outside of “comfort zones”. THAT’S getting “relokated”. That is true biblical community!
I would love to hear your thoughts on the evening! Take a minute and login. Post it here. or go to our Discussion Room page and post a comment. What was your favorite part? Do you have any photos we can share for those that couldn’t make it? Give me a shout out Relokate!!!
Blessings
